At Arrahman Welfare Foundation Canada, we understand that Zakaat is not merely an obligation but a divine opportunity to purify wealth and contribute to the welfare of others. As one of the five pillars of Islam, Zakaat requires Muslims who possess a certain level of wealth to donate 2.5% of their savings annually to those in need. This powerful act of charity is not just a financial transaction; it is a profound form of worship and spiritual growth. Allah (SWT) tells us in the Qur'an: 'Take from their wealth a charity by which you purify them and cause them increase.' (Surah At-Tawbah 9:103). Zakaat serves as a reminder that wealth is a gift entrusted to us by Allah, and it is our duty to share it with those less fortunate.
