Fidyaa is a form of charity in Islam that provides compensation for those who are unable to fast during the holy month of Ramadan due to illness, old age, or other valid reasons. According to Islamic teachings, fasting during Ramadan is an obligatory act of worship for every adult Muslim. However, for those who are unable to fast because of health conditions, chronic illness, or other legitimate reasons, Fidyaa becomes an alternative way to fulfil this spiritual duty.Fidyaa is a means of making up for missed fasting days by providing a specific amount of food to those in need, or in some cases, giving monetary donations equivalent to the cost of feeding a poor person. The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said: 'If anyone is ill or on a journey, then an equal number of other days should be fasted, and for those who are unable to fast, they should feed a poor person for every missed day.' (Surah Al-Baqarah 2:184).At Arrahman Welfare Foundation, we make it simple for individuals to fulfil their Fidyaa obligations by facilitating donations that provide nutritious meals to those in need. Each year, we ensure that Fidyaa contributions directly reach marginalized communities, helping to feed the hungry and support families facing hardship.Whether it's offering a wholesome meal during Ramadan or distributing food to those in need throughout the year, your Fidyaa donations play a crucial role in making a meaningful difference in the lives of families who struggle to meet their basic needs. In addition to providing food, we occasionally distribute cash assistance to further support those in difficult circumstances.By contributing to our Fidyaa initiative, you are not only fulfilling your religious obligation but also helping to create a positive, lasting impact on the lives of those who need it most.
